Cañon City

Too far
from Colorado Springs for a good video store.
Too close to Pueblo for its own weather reports.
The little town I live in and why it's okay.
Reflections
of the way things used to be
This is a mural at the corner of Fifth and Main streets in downtown Cañon. Although the streets are now paved, a lot of people still wear cowboy hats.
The
most fun two guys can have with skirts on in Cañon City
I lift my boss, Gary Minor, owner of the Canyon Current into the air on Skirt Night at local club Manhattan's. Gary is a blast outside the office and very often in the office, as well. I very nearly won the "Best Guy in a Skirt" contest that night, but the owner's brother-in-law prevailed; one of the downsides of a small town.
What
story down there awaits its end?
The rock I'm sitting on here is actually only 10 feet above the road. It's in Phantom Canyon, along which a road winds for 35 miles to Cripple Creek, home of Colorado's finest casinos.
More Cañon City to come later
